Local Attractions
The Commodore on the Beach is in the heart of Galveston Island, on the beachfront at 37th and Seawall (Longitude 95 degrees West, Latitude 29.2 degrees North). That location is the Island's midsection – to the east are the Historic Pleasure Pier, Stewart Beach and Galveston's restored architectural treasures and museums; an equal distance to the west are the world-class attractions of Moody Gardens, Schlitterbahn and the Lone Star Flight Museum. The Cruise Ship Terminal, Strand Historical District and the Postoffice Street art galleries are even closer.
The Commodore on the Beach is surrounded by great restaurants, too, including Gaido's, Casey's, The Gumbo Diner, Joe's Crab Shack, The Brick House Tavern, The Spot, Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream, Papa's Pizza and Salsa's Seaside Cantina, all within an easy walk.
